I'm an amateur photographer from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire.

This website contains some of my favourite photos.

Toy Photography

Toy Photography

Toy photography is not to the liking of everyone. But I really like taking photos of lego minifigures, board games and pop vinyl figures. These are usually pictures of toys from pop culture. Pictures of toys relating to things like Star Wars, Super Heroes and other science fiction and fantasy. These pictures can really connect with people who are fans of the subject.
Elven Attack

Elven Attack

I took "Elven Attack" in the build up to the release of Amazon's new Lord of the Rings TV show. It is a picture of two lego minifigures from The Hobbit film. What I love about it is the expression on the elf's face as she is jumping through the air to attack her foe.

Root - A Game of Woodland Might and Right

Root is a popular board game where the creatures of the forrest battle for supremacy. This photo shows one of the mice surrounded by three cats. I love the expression on their faces. I wouldn't want to be in the mouse's shoes!

How did you solve the icing problem?

"How did you solve the icing problem?" is a famous line from the first Ironman movie. Robert Downey Jr says the line as he rockets into the sky, being chased by the film's bad guy in his own, super sized iron suit.

Portrait Photography

Portrait Photography

I think it's a common thing to get into portrait photography because you want to take pictures of your family. That's certainly how I started.

Portraits aren't always about a face:

I have taken some pictures of stangers, which I find really hard to do. As part of a camera club I have taken some portraits of models too. These are a few:

Wedding Photography

In 2023 I was honoured to be asked to take photos at my niece's wedding.

Being the official photographer is very different to just being a guest taking pictures. I tried to approach the day as professionally as I could. It's obviously a very important day, so there is inevitably some pressure. Hopefully the couple liked the photo's.

Landscape Photography

I'm not really a landscape photographer.

Great landscape photography takes a lot of dedication. I don't have it. You have to get up early, go out late. Travel long distances. Arrive in the dark before dawn. Real landscape photographers are very dedicated. You'll find me getting up late and having a coffee before I venture out in the morning.

But even if you don't make that sunrise, an hours hike from your bed, most photographers have some landscape shots. Here are some of mine.

Social Media

I use this Guitar Hero inspired profile picture on most of my social media accounts.

I don't do anything Meta related, so I'm not on Facebook, Instagram, Messanger or WhatsApp.

I am a big fan of the new Activity Pub based social networks, like Mastodon and Pixelfed, which do not have a big tech owner and work how the web works, decentralised, with you being the owner not the product. I have been posting my Lego photography on Pixelfed - think Instagram. I have an account on Mastodon Art, a twitter like community for artists.

I'm also a member of the Brick Central community on Tumblr.

The following are links to these and some of the platforms I am on.
